Democracy is getting hard to swallow…Crunch Time by Counterpilot

Crunch Time is a hi-tech dinner party that plays with the discomfort of democracy. Seated around a projector-mapped dining table, audience members use interactive tools to vote for every ingredient used in an elaborate meal.

The kitchen features individuals from public positions of leadership. Local politicians, artistic directors and CEOs take their turn to cook up requests from the dining room. The popular vote can be hard to swallow, but at the end of the day — everyone has to eat.

Crunch Time serves a real five-course meal to an intimate audience of twelve people at a time. The stakes are high, the chef is doing their best, and conversation about politics is part of the experience.

Content advisory: All ingredients in Crunch Time are decided by majority rule — audience members with preferences, allergies, or specific dietary concerns can vote accordingly. Satisfaction is not guaranteed, as democracy isn't always palatable. An alcoholic beverage option is available during the performance, with alternative soft drinks provided for patrons under 18 years of age.
