Fused Glass Sun Catchers
Part of Redlands Coast AdventureFest
Capture the colour, light, and coastal spirit of the Redlands Coast in this hands-on fused glass sun catcher workshop, led by hot glass artist Kaylene of Sandy Beach Studio.
In this relaxed and creative session, you'll design and assemble a rectangular fused glass sun catcher, drawing inspiration from the local coastline - shifting light on water, coastal colours, native flora, and the rhythms of sea and sky.
Kaylene will guide you through the fundamentals of glass fusing, showing you how to safely cut, layer, and arrange glass to create balance, movement, and sparkle. This workshop is suitable for beginners and requires no prior glass experience.
During the workshop you will:
Create one rectangular fused glass sun catcher
Learn the basics of cutting, layering, and composing glass
Explore colour, transparency, and texture to reflect coastal light
Held as part of Redlands Coast AdventureFest, this workshop offers a bright, hands-on way to experience the region through colour, light, and making.
Want to make more than one?
Additional sun catchers can be made on the day for a small extra cost.
